F.A.Q.

What are the opening hours for Little Possums?

Both our Possums Room and Pre-Kindy program run 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday – Friday.

Bookings for our Possums Room (daily child care) are a permanent year round booking, with a 2 week break over Christmas when the service closes.

Pre-Kindy runs during Term Time, with the option to book places in the Kindy Room during School Holidays.

From 2022 the Pre-kindy will be operational year all year round.

Can I receive Child Care Subsidy?

As an approved centre you may be able to claim Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for either Possums room or our Pre-Kindy. Most families are entitled to some form of benefit. To find out if you are eligible to apply, please contact Human Services on 132 468 or visit the website www.humanservices.gov.au. Alternatively visit your nearest family assistance office located within the Centrelink service centres.

Once you are registered, please advise the centre of you and your child’s CRN number, once we have made a booking for you centrelink will be informed and you will be asked to approve your booking on your myGov account.

What to bring - Possums Daycare Room

All children are asked to bring:

  • A bag with your child’s name clearly labelled
  • Appropriate clothing for weather conditions (hat in summer) and extra clothes for toilet training
  • Nappies for the day
  • Clearly labelled healthy lunch
  • A piece of fruit to share for fruit time (2 pieces if your child is attending for a full day)
  • Clearly marked milk and water bottles

Please note our centre is Allergy Aware and foods that contain eggs and nut products should not be included to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction for the children affected.

What to bring - Pre Kindy Program

All children are asked to bring:

  • A bag with your child’s name clearly labelled
  • Appropriate clothing for weather conditions (hat in summer) and extra clothes for toilet training
  • If your child is still using Nappies – we ask that you use Pull Ups as we can encourage the use of toilets in our Pre-Kindy room
  • Clearly labelled healthy lunch
  • Fruit for morning and afternoon tea, either fruit they can eat themselves or cut up in a container (children do not share fruit in Pre-Kindy)
  • Clearly marked water bottles

Please note our centre is Allergy Aware and foods that contain eggs and nut products should not be included to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction for the children affected.

Payment

The preferred method of payment is Direct Debit on a weekly basis as it takes less administration time. We do also accept payments in the morning via EFTPOS or cash. Payments are debited from your account on Monday following the week of care. In the event that your direct debit is dishonoured, you will be charged a fee of $19.95 by Debit Success.

Do I get charged for Public Holidays?

Yes. If your child is booked for daycare or to attend our pre-kindy program on a day that is a public holiday, you will still be charged for that day. You are still able to claim CCS for this if you are eligible.

What happens in the event of a bushfire?

Living in the Perth Hills, we are very aware of being ‘bushfire aware’. That comes hand in hand with our magical bush environment.

If the Bureau of Meteorology states that the fire rating in our area is classed as Extreme and the Fire Behaviour Index is 75 or above or Catastrophic, the centre will be closed for that day. We will contact all parents via email and phone the previous day.

Under advise from the Fire Safety officer of Shire of Mundaring  we have adopted the decision to stay in place in case of an emergency, please contact the service for the full policy. We also have a centre emergency evacuation policy and procedure, both policies are displayed in the service for your information. We practice our evacuation and stay in place drill’s every 3 months with the children.

What are the fees?

Our fees:

Possums room $103.40 per day.

3 year old Pre-Kindy $107.80 per day.

As an approved centre, you can claim Child Care Subsidy for both rooms if you are eligible.

Happy Customers

“Helen and her team and beautiful! My boy started at 6 months old and he’s thriving! Never wants to come home.  Honestly the best decision to pop your little one in this daycare! Would rate 10 stars if I could”

Brooke Beggs

So much more than a child care centre! Such a nurturing, caring environment for our kids, a true testament to the hills community.”
